VERBIND project meeting with TH Köln – Another milestone reached
On 7 May 2026, another project meeting was held as part of the VERBIND research project in collaboration with TH Köln. Those attending the meeting included Prof. Dr Stefan Grünwald and Hanne Pachl from TH Köln, as well as Eckhard Hauer, Gunnar Schneider and Moritz Schmidt from Brehmer GmbH & Co. KG.
The meeting focused on the next technical development steps and coordinating the further course of the project. Concrete measures for the further development of the joining technology were defined jointly. Among other things, new approaches to printed circuit board and contact designs, the integration of insert concepts, and design optimisations of the current test specimens were discussed.
In addition, initial ideas and possible approaches for a future follow-up project were developed. The aim is to make the technologies developed in the VERBIND project usable in the long term for new applications in mechatronic manufacturing and to further advance innovative manufacturing and integration concepts.
The project team views the current progress of the project as very positive overall. Thanks to the close collaboration between the university and industry partners, development risks can be assessed at an early stage and technical solutions can be efficiently refined.
We look forward to further developing the technology together and breaking new ground in mechatronic manufacturing.
